I road the bike for less than 500 miles with Nitron shock on it and its in excellent condition.I have read most '04-'11 rear shocks will fit the '12 bikes but that would be up to you determine fitment on another bike or year. Like new Nitron R1 rear shock with hydraulic reload and rebound adjustment.
